It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the rockin comic book characters that shoot flames, claw their way through concrete, and knock you out with a thought. Comic books have always supported metal culture and have aimed to build up some pretty badass characters. Growing up with comic books I always loved the darker characters that reminded me of Thrash, Death, and Black metal. So when thinking of who would be the superhero/villain masterminds of a superhero metal scene, the following come to mind…

10. Venom
Freaky black alien parasite suit, sharp teeth, claws, and an appetite for spiders. If Venom doesn’t listen to metal, he should.

9. Eric Draven
The dude gets thrown out a freakin window, dies, then returns as an invincible Spectre to get revenge on those who hurt him and his loved ones. Killer black metal like face paint and the attitude to go with it.

8. Wolverine
Everyone’s favorite badass mutant, this dude doesn’t take shit from anyone. He gets on his chopper and rides around lookin for beefs with bubs. Unlike other heroes wolverine doesn’t have any problem stickin his claws into a man’s gut just for pissin him off.

7. Hellboy
His real name is Anung Un Rama (Meaning “…and upon his brow is set a crown of fire…”), and he is believed to be a prince of hell. And imagine the freakin maloik being made with that huge ass stone arm of his. AWESOME!

6. Batman
The Dark Knight resembles a bat and every criminal in the world fears him. He is dressed from head to toe in black body armor and has some kick ass horns on his mask.

5. Spawn
Risen from the depths of hell to be the general of Satan’s army, Spawn rebels against his intended master and goes on a demon killing spree with his kick ass cape, spikes, and what not.

4. Thor
Now you all know this dude listens to Amon Amarth, the Norse God of thunder dedicated to keeping mankind safe by kicking ass with his magical hammer.

3. Rorschach
The typical hero turned psychotic anti-hero, with an ink blot mask to hide his identity and a shoot first ask later mentality, metal it is.

2. The Punisher
Really, the dude has a huge skull on his shirt that any metalhead would wear proudly. He likes usin big guns to kill himself a Mafioso or two and take on any threats that need a killing touch.

Band of choice: Rob Zombie

1. Ghost Rider
About as metal as they come. A burning living skeleton, riding a chopper, dressed in leather, with a flame chain for a weapon. This dude personifies everything that is heavy.
